I don’t know about you but it seems like every few months Facebook decides to “reinvent” itself. I get overwhelmed trying to learn the new features every time. Well this time it seems like Facebook’s new facelift… is for the better.

Yesterday, at Facebook’s Menlo Park headquarters, Mark Zuckerberg (CEO and co-founder) outlined the new features of Facebook. He noted that the inspiration for these changes were user mobility and an increase in visual content.

So next time you log into Facebook you will see (illustrated above):

1. Unique News Feeds: Zuckerberg stated at the conference, “Everyone already has a different experience [when it comes to news feeds]”. As a result, now each user will have their own, personalized News Feeds including: a Friends feed, a music feed, a photo feed, and a “following” feed. The Friends feed contains posts only from a users friends. The music feed shows everything from a user’s favorite band/musician to what someone else is listening to. The photo feed includes all photos a user or their friends upload to Facebook. And like Twitter, users can now “follow” celebrities, businesses, fashion icons, etc and view the content in the “following” feed.
2. Third-Party Relationship: Let’s not forget Facebook’s integration with Instagram, Twitter, FourSquare and other third-party apps. Everything will be bigger and better! For instance, Foursquare check-ins will be bigger and include a map and details about the location, which is unlike before.
3. Uniform Design: Typeface, color, EVERYTHING in relation to formatting will now be the same between mobile and desktop.

Now, in case you didn’t know, the rollout began yesterday for the desktop with the mobile rollout following a few weeks later.
